Ann Monaghan
In the early 1980's, Ann started her own business as a director of a packaging merchant and polythene product manufacturer. After leaving the business to start a family she secured a job as a Business Advisor in 1987 working for Project Fullemploy based in Manchester (an organisation specialised in assisting ethnic minorities to start up in business). Two years later she moved to the Manchester Chamber of Commerce and Industry working as a Business Advisor for Manchester Business Venture.
From 1991, Ann helped develop Manchester Business Consortium into Manchester's premier Enterprise Agency. She has advised hundreds of new business start-ups and developed industry specific programmes for the Creative Industries. She is a member of The Institute of Business Advisors, a SFEDI assessed Business Advisor, an active member of Prowess (a women in business organisation) and is the Shell Livewire Co-ordinator for Manchester and surrounding boroughs.
Richard Nash
Richard Nash founded MBC in 1987. He has a Management Sciences degree from UMIST and Teacher Trained at Manchester University. He taught business studies before moving into Defence Electronics as a Commercial Systems Analyst. He progressed into IT consultancy, subsequently founding a management consultancy, Manchester Business Consortium and other ventures.
He was invited in 1985 by Manchester's Small Firm's Service to develop and pilot "Enterprise Allowance Awareness Days". Business start-up and development programmes followed, later combined with IT Training and e-business consultancy. Richard is an e-business specialist also running coastal Scottish crofts as a web-based holiday letting business. TMB, SFEDI & NVQ Tutor / Assessor holding D32, D33 & D34, listed on the Business Links National Consultants Register.
