New Entrepreneur Scholarship

The New Entrepreneur Scholarship (NES) is a free part-time business development programme for people wanting to start and manage their own business. It has helped over 400 people set up businesses in the North West over the past 3 years. NES programmes are run in Manchester , Rochdale, Oldham, Liverpool, Lancashire , Cumbria and Barrow-in-Furness .

Who runs NES?
NES is funded by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) and managed nationally by the National Federation of Enterprise Agencies in partnership with The Prince's Trust and the Association of Business Schools. In the North West, Manchester Metropolitan University Business School (MMUBS) is the Regional Contractor for the programme, and partners include Manchester Business Consortium, Rochdale Borough Economic Partnership, the University of Central Lancashire , Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, Liverpool John Moores University , Furness Enterprise, New East Manchester, and Opportunities for Women in Oldham.

Who can apply?
NES is open to any employed or unemployed person, resident in designated areas across the North West , over the age of 18, who is not in full-time education. To find out more about NES in your area contact:
